Canadian police say more terror arrests are possible as they investigate a plot to bomb high-profile targets in Canada.
The deputy commissioner of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, Mike McDonnell, said Monday the investigation is not finished now that 17 terror suspects are behind bars.
The suspects, 12 men and five youths, were arrested Friday. Police said the group had amassed three tons of ammonium nitrate fertilizer, an ingredient of an improvised explosive. One ton of ammonium nitrate was used to destroy the federal building in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, in 1995, killing 168 people.
Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper telephoned President George W. Bush Monday afternoon to discuss the terrorism case.
Court documents filed Monday revealed the government's intent to charge the 12 men with participation in a terror group.
