Officials in the Philippines have sharply cut their estimate of those missing in a massive landslide to about 940, from earlier calculations of 1,800.
The new estimate takes into account residents who have been confirmed as being elsewhere when the landslide struck.
The civil defense office said Monday that 72 bodies have been recovered - most of them unidentified - from the village of Guinsaugon that was obliterated in Friday's landslide.
More than 1,800 people lived in the village in the central island of Leyte, before a mountainside collapsed and buried it in mud and boulders. Only 20 people have been rescued.
On Sunday, 29 unidentified victims were buried in a mass grave.
