Nido Qubein
I was listening to a cd featuring Nido Qubein. Nido is a
remarkable business leader who is also the president of
Hypoint University in North Carolina. He's turned the whole
program around and has made Hypoint a sought after
destination for many college students. I would encourage
you to google Hypoint or Nido Qubein is you are interested
in reading an interesting success story.
I first heard Nido speak in person at a seminar in Chicago.
When his presentation was over he was swarmed by people who
wanted more of him. It was a fabulous presentation about
the power of the human spirit and the value of setting
goals that move you.
I listened to Nido speak about the Hole principle. He went
on to say that the Hole principle refers to the act of
continuing to do things that don't work, dig a deeper hole,
He asked the question, "do you continue digging the whole
deeper, doing what you know does not work, or do you change
what you're doing and finally get different results?"
Doing the same thing over and over and expecting different
results. We've all heard this before and we all know that
it's the definition of insanity. At the same time we also
know that old habits are hard to break. It's sometimes
easier to convince oneself that the pain of being foolish
and unwilling to change is easier to bear than taking
action to change how we do things.
Nido's theory of the Hole can refer to any situation that
you may encounter in life. Ask yourself the question, "what
do I really want." After you become very clear what you
want in all aspects of your life, family, relationships,
health, work, spiritual matters, then decide how you are
going to have those things.
Have you ever beat your head against a wall expecting
things to change? Have you ever been frustrated with the
same results? If you answer yes to this question then it's
important for you to know that everyone has been there.
It's also important for you to know that you can make
changes for the better.
The secret is make a decision and then get off your arse to
make it happen. There's a good chance that you will be
excited and motivated by the fact that you got moving in a
new direction. Heck, you might even find some different
results.
