The word sponsor is often heard mentioned whenever an important event takes place. When someone sponsors an event he actually supports that event, organization or even a person. This support is often a financial one but it may happen that the sponsorship to be done through certain products also. The sponsor can be a person or a company. The sponsorship brings benefits to both the sponsor (as it creates a better public image) and the recipient that the sponsorship is offered to.( the person who gets the wanted money or products is often called recipient).

The most common form of sponsorship is the interchange between advertising and financial aid. For example, a big company can offer free equipment to a famous sports team, receiving in exchange the appreciation of its brand. Another well-known form of sponsorship is the one made trough the radio. At the beginning of the broadcasting era, the advertising was forbidden, but later the great amount of money that could be brought through sponsor search made the radio industry realize how much money could be earned.

The sponsor search is very common in many important development fields, such as education, sports, and industry. Practically, having a sponsor is the first most important thing you have to think about before starting any activity you might be interested in. In education, many companies offer equipment to schools or scholarships to children who deserve, just to make a good impression and to win money from publicity. In other domains, such as sports, annually there are being given billions of dollars or euros just on one sport like football or Formula 1.

The sponsor search isn’t very complicated as it implies only a good image from your part, in order to attract as many sponsors as you can. The highest level of sponsor search is reached again in the most important fields (sports, education, industry), as these are already developed and they can sustain a great amount if money and products offered.

The smaller companies have to maintain their sponsorship similar to the way in which they conduct their activity. An unknown company will never attract a great sponsorship, as it doesn’t have the necessary image. A big sponsor will never be interested in helping a small company, unless it has certain facilities afterwards.

Nowadays, the sponsorship is given in certain areas after an already known list of sponsors. For example, the sports equipment producers and the televisions along with the broadcasting companies are the most interested to give sponsorship to sports teams or sports celebrities, because these are directly connected to that particular sport.

In the last few years the sponsorship given to individuals or groups that create fundraising events has become very important as in the developed countries the idea of altruism is very common. Unfortunately, it very often derives from the desire of creating a good and promoted image to the person or group that is making the donation. We find almost always the same sponsor interested in the same kind of events though the sponsor search is always extended. It was proved that the best way to run a very good business and also receive money for your projects is that of having a solid sponsorship, this of course being built only through a good image. When looking for a sponsor, any event organizer will first have a list with possible persons interested in a sponsorship to that kind of event prior to the sponsor search activity.
